Bad news can stop us in our tracks. And if we aren’t guarded, it can cripple our faith. It is important what our response is when you and I encounter unexpected obstacles. It can make all of the difference for the outcome.
“When everything was hopeless, Abraham believed anyway, deciding to live not on the basis of what he saw he couldn’t do but on what God said he would do.” Romans 4:18 MSG
This is why it is SO IMPORTANT to have correct knowledge of WHO God is and WHAT He has promised. We can’t do this outside of knowing His Word and reading it regularly.
If you think that God brings sickness and disease to people to punish them and teach them a lesson, then you are going to have a hard time “believing anyway” that God can and will heal you.
If you don’t know God is THE provider, then you are going to have a difficult time “believing anyway” when you have more month than money!
What we believe matters.
What are the promises God has spoken to you directly AND through His Word?
- In the face of brokenness…believe anyway.
- In the face of loneliness…believe anyway.
- In the face of delay…believe anyway.
- In the face of bad reports…believe anyway.
- In the face of disappointment and discouragement…believe anyway.
It is those that continue looking to hope and “believe anyway” that find what they are looking for.
Write out your promises! Find your scriptures and post them on your bathroom mirror for you to read and declare every morning. Let the Word of God go to bat for you.
“I don’t think the way you think. The way you work isn’t the way I work” God’s Decree. “For as the sky soars high above earth, so the way I work surpasses the way you work, and the way I think is beyond the way you think. Just as rain and snow descend from the skies and don’t go back until they’ve watered the earth, doing their work of making things grow and blossom, producing seed for farmers and food for the hungry, so will the words that come out of my mouth not come back empty-handed. They’ll do the work I sent them to do, they’ll complete the assignment I gave them.” Isaiah 55:8-11 MSG
To believe is a choice. Choose today to believe anyway.
